GVEC has a long history of encouraging and enhancing energy efficiency, so we were excited to celebrate Energy Efficiency Day on October 4. But we also strive to help members conserve energy year-round. That’s why we go beyond the meter to offer products and services that help our members save where it counts most—in their homes and in their wallets!
AC/Heating
One way homeowners can make a big impact on their energy saving is by making sure they have an energy-efficient HVAC system. If your unit is over 10 years old, causing high electricity bills, or needing frequent repairs, a replacement could be more cost-effective than you realize. GVEC offers easy, affordable HVAC replacement with special offers and financing, including on-bill options for qualifying members.
AC/heating maintenance is also key. It helps extend the life of your unit, boosts efficiency and can help prevent costly issues. GVEC provides two options: HVAC Spec Check and Check-N-Save for one-time maintenance.
Solar and Battery Storage
Investing in solar can also deliver a way to save significantly on your energy bill. GVEC offers custom-designed solar panel systems, free estimates and expert installation. Our non-commissioned specialists ensure a system aligned with your needs.
Adding battery storage, like Tesla Powerwall, gives you a way to store excess solar power, reducing both bills and reliance on purchased electricity, even during outages.
Save More with Rebates
In addition to the energy you’ll save by updating your HVAC system or adding solar to your home, you could save even more with federal tax credits available for making these energy-efficient home improvements! You could deduct 30% of total cost for installing solar and battery storage on your home and also 30% (up to $2,000) on qualifying heat pumps as well. Additionally, GVEC offers member rebates on select heat pump systems.
More Member Services to Help You Save
Not only does GVEC sell and install products to help you save energy, but we also go the extra mile by offering free service and programs our members can participate in. GVEC members can call us anytime to request a free home energy audit once per year. Our Energy Solutions Specialists will check your home for energy wasters like inadequate insulation, leaky ductwork or other openings, appliance and AC/heating system inefficiencies, and more.
Members can also save energy by participating in GVEC’s Peak-Time Payback demand response program. This program is designed to help members decrease their energy consumption during peak demand periods using their eligible smart or learning thermostats. Not only do members save by decreasing their usage; they earn annual bill credits each year they participate!
