GVEC celebrates its 85th anniversary on December 2, 2023. It’s a marvel to see how the Cooperative has evolved and grown over the years. As the Guadalupe Valley has experienced growth and success, GVEC is grateful to work hand in hand with the people and communities we serve to achieve mutual prosperity. This cooperative spirit and the relationships forged along the way are what make for an enduring purpose.
GVEC’s journey from providing electricity to expanding into internet services is a testament to its dedication to meeting the changing needs of our members. The introduction of GVEC Fiber internet was indeed a game-changer, as it has the potential to transform the lives of local residents, schools and businesses by connecting them to the digital world.
The Beyond the Meter services, including AC/heating, solar and battery storage, and electrician services further demonstrate GVEC’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our members by providing essential services beyond just electricity. More options and greater flexibility in sustaining energy usage are new and exciting frontiers for our members, customers and GVEC.
It’s evident that GVEC’s success is deeply rooted in our core values and close relationships with the communities we serve. Without mutually beneficial relationships with our members, local leaders, businesses, education, and other area organizations, we would not have the knowledge that helps us continuously challenge ourselves and redefine the level of value GVEC can deliver.
GVEC currently serves over 95,000 electric members and nearly 30,000 consumers of Internet and Beyond the Meter services. That’s a long way from the first few members that started it all 85 years ago.
On behalf of our Board of Directors and employees, we are extremely privileged to be a provider, partner and resource of much more than electricity. Thank you for welcoming our services into your home, work and communities for the past 85 years. We look forward to serving the people and communities of the Guadalupe Valley for many more generations to come. Happy Birthday, GVEC, and happy holidays to all!
