One of GVEC’s seven Corporate Values is Good Corporate Citizenship, which encourages employees to give where their personal passions and values align with GVEC for the betterment of the membership. Many of our employees naturally take advantage of every opportunity to serve their community and lead charitable causes in our area.
You’ll likely recognize GVEC employees from coaching youth sports, serving on the chamber of commerce, education foundations, school boards, stock show boards, parent-teacher organizations, volunteer emergency services, church ministries or other volunteer roles important to our community. Their enthusiasm for giving is the most genuine way to ignite a service-minded attitude in others—both on and off the job.
Over the years, GVEC has given donations and sponsorships through financial support, manpower or in-kind services to numerous service organizations. But the spark from our employee volunteers is what led to organizing an employee-driven volunteer program, GVEC GIVES. Employees interested in volunteering can see the scheduled events in advance and sign up with other team members and family members, too. From long-time members to eager beginners, volunteers are needed in every community and that’s why GVEC GIVES.
