GVEC is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2025 GVEC Public Service Award (PSA) are now open. This annual award recognizes individuals and organizations within the GVEC service area who have demonstrated substantial, consistent and unselfish community service.
The first PSA was accepted by former State Senator John A. Traeger at the GVEC Annual Meeting in 1986. Since then, this award has honored 49 deserving recipients across a broad range of community contributions. From healthcare and education to veterans’ services and first responders, PSA recipients reflect the core values of GVEC and the communities we serve: empowering lives, building stronger communities and shaping a brighter future. Community participation is encouraged to recognize these dedicated individuals and organizations that serve in our area. Nominations may be submitted by any community member, GVEC member, employee or director. “We encourage everyone, including those who aren’t GVEC members, to submit nominations. This community-focused award relies on your input to identify those making a difference and to honor the very people who impact our lives,” said General Manager and CEO Darren Schauer.
The award and check presentation will be made at GVEC’s Annual Meeting on June 26, 2025. The award recipients, along with the individuals who nominated them, will be notified by GVEC staff by March 28, 2025.
PSA Nomination Process and Requirements:
- Nominations can be submitted online at gvec.org or by filling out a printed form available at any GVEC customer service office during regular business hours. Nominate now!
- The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, December 16, 2024, by 5 p.m.
- Nominees are not required to be GVEC members but must have provided community service within GVEC’s service area during 2024.
- Previous PSA recipients are not eligible.
