In the heart of Gonzales, Texas, where the country music vibe harmonizes with the historical roots of the Lone Star State, the Cattle Country Music Festival will bring it all together. The birthplace of Texas makes an ideal destination for a camping festival that draws attendees from nearby cities. Behind the scenes, the success of this event is not just in the melodies but also in the seamless operations powered by GVEC.
The producers behind the three-day outdoor music festival, Marcus Federman and Bruce Kalmick, have been crafting unforgettable events and representing musical artists for over two decades. Federman, with a 25-year career in event production, owns and produces Float Fest. Business partner Kalmick is an artist manager with a 20+ year career and CEO and founder of WHY&HOW Artist Management. Together, they set out to build a legacy event that not only entertains but also leaves a lasting positive impact on the community.
Choosing Gonzales as this festival’s location was a conscious decision driven by the strong relationships the organizers cultivated with local officials and community members from the 2022 Float Fest experience. Federman emphasized local collaboration and resources make doing business much easier.
When it came to choosing a partner for internet services, Federman turned to GVEC, a trusted local company with deep connections to economic development and community commitment. “My decision was influenced by recommendations from local sources who vouched for GVEC’s reliability”, said Federman.
The significance of quality internet at an event of this scale cannot be overstated. Federman highlighted that internet is the most vital piece of the event’s infrastructure. Every point-of-sale and operational strategy relies on a stable and fast internet connection.
GVEC is accustomed to being the first to bring internet access to the people and places where it’s needed, so we put our know-how to work. Our project planning team staked out the job and began drawing up the plans. Then, the GVEC internet team got to work building the request into reality.
In this case, fiber internet is the backbone needed for a project of this scale with a build-out of nearly 12,000 feet of cable to the event location. GVEC is providing four 1 gigabit services to the headquarters, stages and camping points. From there, networking, wireless internet zones and public-facing Wi-Fi will accommodate the attendees. Only through the technology of fiber optics is it possible to support thousands of people online simultaneously, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
“Large-scale projects like this not only allow us to support the event itself but also to support the economic development of the area because of the domino effect the economic impact has on local businesses,” said Senior Marketing and Communications Manager Tammy Thompson.
GVEC has connected community gatherings with temporary point-to-point internet to enhance the quality of the festivities for events such as Shiner Half-Moon Holidays, the Gonzales Come and Take It festival and the Texas Lineman Rodeo in Seguin.
The mission of empowering our communities—with internet from GVEC—strikes the right chord for lasting connections!
